Trained professionals certified to sell health plans in the state they’re licensed. Generally paid by insurance companies when people they help enroll in a plan they sell.
When you submit your Marketplace application, we’ll also check if you might qualify for free or low-cost coverage through
Insurance program that provides free or low-cost health coverage to some low-income people, families and children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Many states have expanded their Medicaid programs to cover all people below certain income levels.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)Insurance program that provides low-cost health coverage to children in families that earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to buy private insurance. In some states, CHIP covers pregnant women.

Contact the Marketplace Call Center. Get free, non-biased personal help. Call to ask a question, start or finish an application, compare plans, or enroll. Available every day, except certain holidays, and in other languages.
Find local help. Search by your city and state or ZIP code to get a list of local people and organizations who can help you apply, pick a plan, and enroll. Some offer help in languages other than English, other specialized services, or in-person help.
Agents and brokers can help you enroll through the Marketplace or handle the whole process. They may be paid a commission by health insurance plans when they help enroll you in a plan. Search for someone near you or have them contact you.
