Our decision to open a high school for Brooklyn students is driven by the school’s long-standing connection to this community, and by our desire to provide inclusive educational opportunities to allow all youth and families to be an important part of the community’s growth and future success through supporting students’ access to meaningful careers and college options.

The first day of school is August 26th in our new amazing facility in Williamsburg. Students can show up for the first day of school without their uniform but dressed appropriately, and they will receive uniform items free of charge during the first week.
In summer bridge students were engaged in learning in ELA and Math but also explored a wide variety of jobs and internship opportunities they’ll have in high school, as well as visiting area colleges.
The home of our new High School is 217 N 10th Street in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. This state-of-the-art facility will have a large multi-use gym space, a large cafeteria space known as the “Hub” with an outdoor terrace, a Design Lab, recording studio and more. The building is conveniently located by a number of public transit options.
In this state-of-the-art home created uniquely for our students, we will be doing cutting-edge learning as well. Students will explore video game design, music production, urban gardening and more. Graduates of 2028 will be navigating an increasingly automated job market which is why we will fully prepare them to utilize Ai, 3D printing, augmented reality and all current 21st century tools and skills.
Our proximity to McCarren Park gives us the ability to offer incredible outdoor sports, clubs and activities to our students. McCarren park has a regulation field, track, tennis courts, baseball & softball diamonds, and more.
Not only will we be competing in athletic competitions, we’ll have ESports, Debate, and Chess teams as well. Students will have opportunities to shine and express themselves.
Our model offers students the opportunities to explore their career interests through authentic career experiences with our many internship partners. We want every student to graduate with internship experiences, college credits, a certification in their desired field and to have participated in community-relevant projects.
BSNBCS’s high school planning has four key design elements that are incorporated into the school’s model for grades K-12 and in its operational design: Data Driven Decision Making, Differentiated Instruction, Student Centered Learning and, lastly, Project Based and Experiential Learning Leading to a Self-selected Career Pathway.
While elements of our school model can be found in other areas, cities and states, our K-8 design and high school planning has specifically been tailored to anticipate the needs of high school students from Brooklyn, coming of age in the 2020s, and entering the careers of the present and near future. We learn from others in the field, as elements of our high school student framework are in place at High Tech High in San Diego; our field placements for internships in jobs parallels an existing program from the Cristo Rey parochial school network and our experiential learning program and enrichment week program that will meet the individual needs of our students.
Graduates of Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings in twelfth grade will live up to the greater promise of New York City within the imagination in American society: the home of hard working, dedicated and engaged colleagues, students and families who work together with an entrepreneurial spirit where every person has a chance to be successful. With the backdrop of housing projects and construction cranes on previously long-abandoned lots, our development of this specific K-12 model prepares students for vast and diverse post-secondary opportunities to contribute to their neighborhood, city and country.
Students will have the opportunity to obtain college credits as early as 9th grade. We offer AP courses, College Now and professional certifications to give students the opportunity to hit the ground running in their college and career journey.
BSNBCS is not only a supportive school for my children, I have a third grader and a seventh grader, it is very supportive to me as a parent as well. Their teachers are in communication with me regularly about my child’s progress and the office team and support staff are always available to answer any questions. It is a loving community that I am glad to be a part of!
Mrs. WilliamsThis is a great school. My son started out in kindergarten and he will be going to 5th grade for the new school year. The teachers work hard with each child. The staff are friendly and polite and the school as a whole is well organized. Thank you BSNBCS.
Since I enrolled my kids in this school I have seen improvements in their academic performance. They can now read well. The school's staff and teachers are friendly and approachable. I would recommend this school.
